Official setup guide for Ledger hardware wallets

Ledger hardware wallets provide industry-leading security for managing cryptocurrencies and digital assets. This guide will walk you through the essential steps required to securely set up your Ledger device and begin managing your assets with confidence.
Step 1: Unbox and Inspect Your Ledger
Carefully unbox your Ledger device and ensure the packaging has not been tampered with. Inside the box, you should find your Ledger wallet, a USB cable, recovery sheets, and official instructions. If anything looks suspicious, do not continue the setup.
Step 2: Connect Your Device
Connect your Ledger wallet to your computer using the provided USB cable. The device will power on automatically. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your language and begin configuration.
Step 3: Install Ledger Live
Ledger Live is the official application used to manage your wallet, install apps, and securely send or receive cryptocurrency. Download Ledger Live only from Ledger’s official website to avoid counterfeit software.
Download Ledger LiveStep 4: Secure with PIN & Recovery Phrase
Create a PIN code directly on your Ledger device. Then carefully write down your 24-word recovery phrase on the provided recovery sheet. This phrase is the only way to restore access to your funds if your device is lost or damaged.
Never share your recovery phrase with anyone.
Step 5: Start Managing Your Assets
Once setup is complete, open Ledger Live to add accounts, install apps, and securely manage your digital assets. Your private keys remain protected inside your Ledger device at all times.
