Step 1: Unbox Your Ledger Device

Start by unboxing your Ledger hardware wallet. In the box, you should find:

• Your Ledger hardware wallet
• USB cable
• Recovery sheet (for writing down your recovery phrase)
• Instructions

Ensure that the packaging is sealed properly. If anything appears tampered with, do not proceed and contact Ledger support immediately.

Step 2: Connect Your Ledger to Your Computer

Next, connect your Ledger wallet to your computer using the provided USB cable. Your device should automatically power on.

You will be prompted to choose a language for the device interface. Select your preferred language using the buttons on the Ledger device.

Once the language is selected, you will be guided to proceed with the setup process.

Step 3: Install Ledger Live

To interact with your Ledger device, you'll need to download and install the Ledger Live application on your computer. Ledger Live is the official software for managing your Ledger hardware wallet.

Step 4: Set Up Your PIN Code

For added security, you will be prompted to choose a PIN code on your Ledger device. This PIN will prevent unauthorized access to your wallet.

Your PIN code can be between 4 and 8 digits long. Choose a PIN that is secure but memorable.

Important: Do not share your PIN with anyone. Your PIN is crucial for securing your cryptocurrency.

Step 5: Write Down Your Recovery Phrase

Your recovery phrase is the most important part of securing your funds. This phrase is a backup of your private keys and allows you to recover your wallet in case your device is lost or stolen.

Write down the 24-word recovery phrase on the provided recovery sheet. Store it in a secure place, away from your computer or any online storage.

Never share your recovery phrase with anyone, and do not store it digitally. If someone gains access to your recovery phrase, they can access your funds.

Step 6: Complete Setup

Once your PIN and recovery phrase are set up, your Ledger device is ready to use! You can now open Ledger Live and start managing your cryptocurrency assets securely.

To send, receive, or view your assets, simply open Ledger Live and connect your device. You’ll have full control over your funds with the security of a hardware wallet.
